Many people oppose the concept of friendship day for the idea that friendships do not need a day to be celebrated, every day should be a celebration. Yes, I agree that friendships are not something to be bound to be celebrated a single day but why don't you use this day as your day for an exclusive friendship extravaganza instead of thinking of it as a blot. Why to miss a chance to celebrate something if the world is giving it to you on a silver platter?

Moving on to how you can make this day memorable:

1. Make small friendship day cards for your closest friends! Please be open in your expression and spill out your heart to them! Nothing's better than a handmade card!

2. One cute gesture can be to buy small things for your friends like chocolates, bouquet or a cake! And how about leaving the gift anonymously for added intrigue!

3. Rekindle the old friendships, send some texts and make some calls! Dig the numbers out and ring up your oldest friends. Don't forget to ring up your new friends in the process, though! 😜

The reason I suggested this idea was that we always meet with close/best friends and hang out. We don't need a reason for us to do that. So how would 'friendship day' be special if we do the same thing, we do regularly. There are some long lost school friends or acquaintances we don't talk to, normally. Even for us to get in touch with them we need some occasion or some important reason. Why not use 'Friendship Day' as the reason for us to bond with them. That's the whole idea."
